Most important: Be on time and be prepared!
|
When a guild event is announced, it is important that each person planning to attend posts on the Web site the intent to attend. It is more important for those who know they CANNOT attend to post to let us know so preliminary groups can be planned in advance. Remember that guests are NOT allowed. Potential members, preferably those who have had an opportunity to group with some guildies in advance or are well known to the guild, may be allowed if the guild leader is informed in advance, . Anyone who knows of a potential guild member who wants to join a raid should write Tiorcam here at the Web site prior to telling this person they can attend.
Before the raid -- This is the time to do your homework study the zone, look at a map, etc. Read about the mobs and know what to expect. Check out the drops and make sure to make a note of any items you're interested in -- especially no drop items. We can't take time to read off the stats for every item as it drops. Remember the faster we kill, the better our odds of getting something we need.
The night before -- This is the time to prepare. Make sure you get everything you will need for the raid -- arrow parts, peridots, food, water, etc. Camp either in the raid zone or at at druid ring or wizzie spire.
Be on time -- Log on and be ready for a port at a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the announced event time. If you log on after the last port has been made and everyone is grouped, you will not get to attend the event. Make sure you have everything you need close at hand -- food, drink, etc.
After we arrive -- Sit patiently and wait for groups to be announced. After groups are announced, all persons in a group should sit together and wait for buffs. Do NOT begin fighting until the raid leader says we are ready. Group leaders should not be the cleric or the porter. Buff givers will buff groups at this time. If you miss a buff because you weren't with your group, you will have to wait until we get to the camp site.
Listen!!! -- Please pay close attention to what's being said and know what's going on. This is one of our shortcomings. We will not be repeating ourselves over and over for those who did not listen. If you have to go afk for any reason, inform your group leader. Group leaders are responsible for letting the raid leader know if any members are not available for important announcements.
Group roles -- Once again, the group leader should not be the cleric or the porter. Designate the group ML (preferably a guild officer, see Loot Rules). Buff givers, divide buff responsiblities and inform the party as to who is doing what. Groups, designate one person in the group to inform buff givers when your group needs a buff. Buffs are given on a schedule. Odds are if one person needs a certain buff, all in that group will need it, too. If you are dispelled by a monster, please ask that the buffer be informed and make sure that person knows the buff is needed because of dispell.
MA and Secondary MA and Puller -- This will be announced by the raid leader. Please make sure you assist these people and respect these roles.
Camp Cleric -- If the raid leader or your group leader says to camp clerics, clerics /q immediately. Everyone protect their cleric to make sure they get out safely. After the clerics are out, if the situation is still hopeless, everyone else should /q if possible.
Evac -- If the raid leader or your group leader says to evac, move close to your group's porter and be ready to go. The faster the evac can be cast, the better the chances of getting out alive.
Work as a team -- The whole idea of a guild event is to learn to work together as a team or in other words as one big mean fighting machine. Listen, do your job, respect others and support others. Learn from each event what you must do and what you can do to help the group as a whole.
Have fun -- This is a game, you know :-)
